Job Description
- · Examines the walls and roof surfaces for faults in the strata that indicate risk of landslides or rock collapses.
- · It tests the air for concentrations of toxic gases and explosive dust, using a safety lamp, a methane detector, a carbon monoxide log, and an anemometer.
- · It recommends altering or installing ventilation shafts, partitions, or equipment to remedy inadequate air circulation from the air conditioner.
- · Apply principles of mining engineering and human engineering to design protective equipment and safety devices for mining machinery.
- · It instructs mine personnel on safe work practices and first aid, and strives to promote and maintain the safety mindset of workers.
